Chicago Screening

Quick Update:

We will be screening the film in Chicago on Sunday, Feb 7 at 2PM at the United Church of Rogers Park. Jamie will be attending will will answer questions after the screening. You’ll make it home with plenty of time before the Super Bowl. More info is available here.

John Perkins & Shane Claiborne’s book “Follow Me to Freedom”

Two of our subjects in “The Ordinary Radicals” collaborated on a pretty fantastic book on leadership entitled “Follow Me to Freedom”. If you’ve seen the film, you know the lives these two lead are nothing short of inspiring. They can teach us all a thing or two about both leading and following well. Check it out.

Screenings continue, plus an article

Happy 2009! All of us here hope your 2009 is off to a great start. Things are busy for us here, in Philadelphia. We are continuing to schedule some screening for the film (if you’d like to set up a screening, there’s still a little time left to email events@theordinaryradicals.com), but at the same time we’re working on additional projects (you’ll hear about them sooner than later). On Tuesday, Jan 27, Jamie will be screening the film out in Berkeley, CA. For more info check out http://events.theordinaryradicals.com. We continue to be really excited by the support we’re still receiving on the film.

Eastern University (the alma mater for some of us involved with the film) recently did a two-page article in their magazine “Spirit”. You can see the whole article in its .pdf glory by clicking here.

Hiya folks,

We’ve had quite the good times back home in Philadelphia: sharing meals, telling stories and participating in a favorite past time – Buy Nothing Day. It comes from the fine folks at Adbusters, read up on the where & why at their website.

You might be aware some of the interviewees from The Ordinary Radicals have tons of fun every year putting on Buy Nothing Day events all across the US & Canada. One particular BND event close to our hearts here is the Philadelphia event. It’s organized by friends connected to The Simple Way and features everyone’s favorite thrift store super friends: The USAntiheroes!

Had the chance to sit down with Sandra B. from radio 105.9FM in London, Ontario. Sandra, her friend Clay and I got to hang out at their studio and talk on air about all sorts of what nots. I really enjoyed talking with them (we talked just a much off air as we did on air).

Two Screenings Tomorrow in Wayne, PA (with a discussion in the middle)

We had some emails asking for some more information regarding tomorrow’s screenings. There will be two screenings tomorrow at the Anthony Wayne Theatre, one at 11AM and one at 11PM. At 1:30PM, on the campus of Eastern University there will be a talkback discussion with Jamie Moffett- this event is free and open to the public. Tickets for the screenings will continue to be sold online, and you can also buy tickets at the door, but we highly recommend getting tickets online beforehand to secure your ticket. See you in Wayne!
