Hey all! I have some good news for you. At long last, I’m happy to say that Another World is Possible Volume 1 – War REDUX is available for order. I’m expecting it to ship as early as next month! Here’s the Introduction to the DVD by Shane Claiborne:

Six years after the first installation of the “Another World Is Possible” series, Shane ClaiborneJamie Moffett and friends return with a much more developed new exploration of the meaning of war and violence in our world.

Retained from the original Volume 1 is Dave Manzo’s jarring Iraq War photo montage as well as Shane’s “Extremists For Love” talk at the annual CCDA conference and a video of the press conference that was held when Shane, Jonathan, Leah and the rest of their Christian Peacemaker Team delegation returned from Iraq.

Volume 1 -War REDUX adds a new introduction with Shane, as well as four new in-depth interviews with a few of his friends who have recently spent time in the various war zones of the Middle East, featuring:

  • Amber shares stories from her time with the Circus 2 Iraq troupe
  • Farah bears witness to the devastation of Lebanon during the 2006 Israeli offensive • Jonathan and Leah share their attempts to apply their dramatic experience in Iraq back home in Durham, North Carolina

So dear readers we’ve made it back home to Kensington, Philadelphia with a grand total of 3.5 terabytes of footage.  So many amazing stories over these past 11,000 miles and we have one more to tell.

The last event from Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw’s Jesus For President book tour is this evening in Philadelphia at:

Broad Street Ministry: 315 S. Broad Street (across from the Kimmel Center)

The event starts at 7pm, get there early to stop by and say hey!

See you there,

~jamie

Just for fun, here’s a couple pieces of time lapse I’ve shot in Philly over the years:

Well, after meeting up with Deanna and Dan in Atlanta, we drove down to Orlando, FL for the J4P event there…and it was massive. Thousands of people gathered at the Discovery Church to hear Chris & Shane tell their story. I have to tell you it was certainly the most fashionably dressed group of any on the tour, and I’ve pretty much been wearing the same cargo shorts for the last 5 weeks. Looks like they dug the story, as they were clearly moved by the message and eager to share their own stories with Chris and Shane after the event.

I’m most excited that my dear friends Zack and Andrea McKinley drove up to visit us and hang out. Zack has been a part of The Simple Way story years before there was an organization called The Simple Way, as he was a part of the group of us back at Eastern who came across the amazing moms and kids of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union who’d taken over the abandoned St. Edwards Roman Catholic church to get out of the cold, then subsequently arrested by the police on behalf of the church (and tried to have their kids removed). Anywhoo, important times and I’m so glad they got to visit. Here’s a shot of Zack & I back in the day while studying ethnomusicology in Cuba.

As some of you guys may have heard a while back, our neighborhood experienced some serious devastation last year from a fire. Here’s a new video that we made updating everyone on where things presently stand. Thanks, and enjoy.
