Hello All! Man, I know it has been a while since I wrote on here. I literally fell into a great abyss called Post Production. For the last month we have been working insanely hard over here at the shop. Now I know that for some the word insane might have a lot of different connotations, so let me break it down for you. I, myself, have been doing 60-hour workweeks. And that is a light load compared to Jamie and Dave, who have at times, been sleeping here in two to three hour intervals while the film renders. They are at the extreme end of our madness though, and the rest of the crew falls somewhere in-between the two.
The month has been crazy, but friends have brought us cookies, invited us to breakfast, and dinner, and given us donuts and bagels. It is amazing how food can be such a morale booster. Especially when you are starving because you haven’t had time to go to the grocery store in a month.
August is now coming to a close, and with it our movie is about to open. It has been a crazy ride. And at times I didn’t think we were going to make it all the way through, by the deadline. But Jamie assembled himself a dream team, and they are pulling off what seemed impossible on paper.
I am excited to say that today the picture will be locked, (meaning that all we have left to do is sound and color adjustments and then we will be done and ready to show in theatres). We are so excited to share this story, that we are so passionate about with you all. It has been a steep sprint to the end, but we are now just feet away from the finish line. And I am not going to lie, the film is turning out to be better than I ever could have imagined it being. You don’t want to miss seeing it! I have watched the rough cut time and time again and I am stoked about seeing what the final version will be!
Hey All! We have booked the first of many theatres across the country! Join us in Kansas City if you are in the area. If you want to put a request in that we come to your town, email events@theordinaryradicals.com. And don’t forget to keep an eye on that event page to your right, cause we will be adding screenings to it all the time!

We’re almost there! The movie’s coming together quite nicely and I can’t wait to show it to you! I know my editors will be cranky that I’m sneaking you footage out before the movie release, but I can’t wait. Check out the opening title sequence!
We are, however, running low on funds and could use your help. We’re still under budget (hooray!), but we didn’t spend as much time fundraising as I had hoped we could…making the movie and getting it out on time took top priority.
So, with that in mind, would you consider contributing to the production, or perhaps signing on as an Associate Producer? There’s all sorts of perks and you’ll know you’re directly responsible to bringing this movie to life! We’ve received word from two anonymous contributors that they’ll match up to a total of TEN Associate Producers! Can you join us in making that happen? I know it’s an awful lot to ask, and no worries if you can’t. Thanks most importantly for following us along this amazing journey and I hope you get to enjoy the movie in the not too distant future!
This is a bit different from the usual info you get here, but I thought it important to do a small part to help a friend in need. Our good friend Rebekah Joy Wilcox wrote that her father, Paul, is sick with a rare form of cancer called Leiomyosarcoma, which affects the soft tissue of the body.
So, would you mind signing this petition on behalf of Paul S. Wilcox, to help bring about awareness (and hopefully more research) of this form of cancer? It’s a small little act that’ll show the Wilcox family support and maybe, just maybe, bring about a tipping point towards a cure for this terrible illness.
We’re deep into post-production and so excited about the progress of The Ordinary Radicals. I just came back from the printer with the tickets for the world premiere of the movie! Its at:
The Bryn Mawr Film Institute
824 W. Lancaster Avenue
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
Head over to: http://september4tickets.theordinaryradicals.com and order your tickets now! We’d love for you to join us at this great event to watch the movie with us in a wonderful 300 seat indie theater!
We’re looking for music to use as underscoring for The Ordinary Radicals. There’s no money involved, but if we use your song we’ll provide credit for your work and send you a copy of the movie when it’s available! Wanna have your music in this movie? Here’s the deal:
You need to have full ownership of the song & fill out a music release form allowing us to use it, which we’ll distribute in whatever ways we can (theatrical, DVD, online, via space ship, etc).
Note: The less vocals the better: keep in mind we’re looking to _underscore_ the stories and footage. If you have a great tune with vocals and can go back to the masters & get us a copy without vocals, that’ll be much more useful to us.
The deadline: We need the music this week…yeah….sorry about the late notice. If we can get tunes asap, Dave Manzo, our senior editor, will listen to them and see where they might go.
So yeah! Hit us with your tunes. Here’s how to do it:
