We had a fabulous sold out screening at the Screenland theater in Kansas City.  Zack Exley and his wife Elisabeth joined us for the event.  Zack and I got to answer questions from the audience for nearly an hour!  There were so many honest comments and questions from the more than 150 people who attended.  I’m so lucky to have met athiests and gay christians after the screening who felt completely comfortable in the conversation.  One athiest woman thanked me for making the film, telling me she felt “disarmed” of the hate she had against all Christians–realizing there’s something wonderfully peculiar happening in this movement.  As a “recovering Catholic”, I totally agree.

Super special thanks to Nick who took tickets for us, invited tons of his friends and made the event a fantastic success.

Had a great time with the folks in Orlando at the Premiere Cinemas 14 theater. I met tons of fabulous folks who’ve shared such amazing stories. A million thanks to Alan, Tony, and Nelson for bringing the movie here. By the way, this screening makes us officially eligible for an Academy Award nomination. Crazy. Here are some photos of the location and of the event.

This Sunday, “The Ordinary Radicals” will debut in Orlando.

In preparation for Sunday’s debut, there will be a LIVE radio program discussing the film. This Friday, Sept 19, from 8-9PM, Director Jamie Moffett, and Lisa Sharon Harper (Executive Director of NY Faith and Justice and featured interviewee in the film) will be guests on The People Power Hour with George Crossley on WAMT 1190AM - Orlando, FL. AND you can also listen live online at www.peoplepowerhour.com.  Make sure to tune in!

What do Orlando, Kansas City, Wayne, Lexington, and Spokane all have in common???  They are all cities that are booked to have a screening of “The Ordinary Radicals”!  Information for all of those screenings is posted on the right of this blog (and for most, you can buy tickets online).

But is your city not on that list?  Fear not!  We’re working on scheduling screenings throughout the country (and Canada, too!), and if you’re interested in bringing the film to your area, please email events@theordinaryradicals.com.  And also feel free to drop us an email if we’re coming to your town and you have promotion ideas or want to help in some other way.

Wow, what an amazing time. Nearly 300 people packed the theater of the Bryn Mawr Film Institute for the first public screening of The Ordinary Radicals. It was unbelievable. We had a fabulous reception designed by Shannon Oberg and Jake Miller of Gather Events; wonderful screening in a beautiful theater (thanks to Dave Mattson and Alice Bullitt).
It was great to see so many faces from the movie in the audience: Brooke Sexton, Tony Campolo, Leroy Barber, Becky Garrison, Terry Foester, Rene Colson Hudson and more).
And then we followed it up with an after party into the wee hours at the New Orleans restaurant next door. I’m getting tons of great notes from folks (and if you’ve seen the film, email: feedback@theordinaryradicals.com to let us know what you think).
